Best thing to test with Landy

Giving every customer an amazing personal experience is a challenge. You could decide what works on average for your visitors by using A/B testing or creating complex if-else segmentation campaigns. But if you want to make the experience truly personal – you need to take things differently. That’s where Landy shines: we’re employing machine learning to get the best personal experience for every visitor. But, like everything new, it requires rethinking your approach of conversions optimization.

Testing approach

To run a personal experience with Landy, you just need to create segmentation campaign. Each campaign is made up of variations and goals. Variations – are different versions of your page, being shown to your visitors based on their traits and behavior. Goals are your target objectives.

To create the successful campaign with Landy you need to follow few simple rules:

Considering this two simple rules and our experience we collected 5 top things you should try out with Landy:

Audience

Targeting different groups of visitors? CTO and developers, marketers and designers, parents and children. Customize your landing page for major groups of your visitors, and Landy will make all the rest: trying to match every visitor with the most suitable version.

For example, try to create 2 variations: one, with deep technical details, for developers, and the one for decision makers with success stories and important business values.

Content type

Different content types may have a tremendously different impact on your audience at different times, days of the week and locations. Have product video? Great! Try to replace it with screenshots in other variation. Have a lot of illustrations? Great Try to replace it with a clean-text layout in other variation. Play with content form and style, and it will definitely pay you back.

For example, try to create 3 different variations: one with product video, one with multiple product screenshots and the last one with a detailed text description.

Content complexity

Have a complex technical product? Try to use content with slightly different levels of comprehension: you could try to add/remove scary-technical-details on your website, along the lines of childish-level explanation.

For example, try to create 2 different variations: one with deep technical details and complete features overview for advanced visitors and one with a high-level overview and complete list of the major features, for less technically-inclined persons.

Product / service features

Obviously, different users have different priorities. If your product has more than one killer-feature try to highlight or rearrange them based on preferences for different groups of visitors.

For example, here at Landy, we create 2 different variations: one with highlighted Visual editor for making beautiful variations without knowing a code and one with highlighted Split testing, for users who prefer to split the traffic among multiple URLs.

Conclusion

Know your audience. Know the data you supply Landy with. These two key points will help you a lot in building a perfect campaign and covering the most of your audience preferences. And as the result - increase your conversions drastically.

Now you are skilled enough to create your first campaign, so try it by yourself!

3 Reasons to Use A/B Recommendation Approach

No matter how much time and money you spend on polishing your Ultimate Landing Page, it will work only for one portion of the visitors and will not work for another. Today you can not fulfill everyone’s needs and address everyone’s issue with a single Landing Page and this puts you at risk of missing conversions and therefore — customers. For an effective lead generation, we need a new data-orientated approach which will take in consideration all available information about potential users. This is the case where recommendation systems really shine and here is why:

1. Doesn’t require One Ultimate Landing Page.

Today A/B tests are forcing marketers to create The Best Possible Landing Page Variation for all users. This approach works great if you make changes which are users independent (e.g. “Free pizza” vs “Super pizza”). But what if a page with kittens works well for 60% of users, and a page with dogs only for 40%? Should you really ignore 40%? That’s where recommendation approach shines. You can give the most relevant page to every new visitor no matter what type of animals do they prefer and satisfy all 100%.

2. Works great for different visitor groups.

When 5% of your traffic are executives and you want to provide very special experience for them, then you need a tool to identify such visitors. That’s a perfect exercise for recommendation algorithms. That’s can automatically show the most relevant page for every new visitor who looks and behaves like an executive while everyone else will get their regular pages. That’s win-win strategy for everyone.

3. Works as A/B testing as well.

What if your visitors prefer red button against green without respect to characteristics and behavior? That’s why recommendation tools are the next level of testing. Recommendation algorithms will identify that green button doesn’t work well for anyone and will show red variation for all visitors.

That’s why recommendation services provide great ability to get most from collected data when you need it and helps to satisfy all types of customers.

Welcome to Brave New Data-Driven World.

Split recommendations & Polished UI

We’re proud to announce two big things which are coming just few weeks after we started our beta program. We was working hard to bring one of the most easy-to-setup recommendations type - Split. So why is it important? Glad you asked!

Split recommendations 🎯

Split recommendations provides an ability to split your traffic between multiple URLs without hassle. This is an on-the-go option when your designers and developers already created few different landing pages versions. And it’s not only robust and easy to maintain, it’s also effortless to setup. So how does it work?

1. Add your landing pages URLs.
2. Choose your marketing goals.
3. Review, install code & launch.

That’s it. When your code is installed, Landy will start to learn which type of users prefer which landing page variation. As soon as Landy will collect enough data she starts to recommend the most relevant page to all new visitors.

You will find Split recommendations in our “New campaign” interface (which is cool btw).

New polished UI 💎

We know you love beautiful interfaces. As do we. We carefully collected your feedback, analyzed data and brainstorming a lot (really). So today we’re rolling out a lot of small updates for every part of Landy (yes, 100% of pages are affected).  Shiny “new campaign” design, polished dashboard, improved visual editor,  and of course totally new split-testing.

All updates are already live, so feel free to check them in Landy App.
